MEET LAUREN SCALES

 

Lauren is currently a senior majoring in Jazz Studies concentrating in Voice, with a minor in French and Francophone Studies. She has remained quite busy over her stint at the university; besides being a member of the executive board of the National Council of Negro Women UM-Section for the past two semesters, she has also been a member of The Sopranos all-female a cappella group for six semesters, serving as Music Director for the last two years, and is actively involved with the spiritual community Unity on Campus. Outside of campus life, Lauren enjoys reading, writing music, performing around the Metro-Detroit area, and LOTS of Yoga and Pilates! After college she plans to pursue a career in vocal performance and songwriting, while maintaining her interests in community activism and female empowerment. MEET KIDADA MALLOY

 

Kidada Malloy is a junior pursuing a B.A. in Public Policy at the University of Michigan. She comes to Michigan from Los Angeles, California where she has experience working in the political arena, including coordinating local political election campaigns and interning for local and state elected officials in California. After graduation, Kidada plans on attending graduate school and completing a master's degree in Public Policy.
