​Shelby Hawkins is a senior from Detroit studying Political Science and Afroamerican & African Studies. She also a member of the University of Michigan Women's Glee where she is also the Outreach Coordinator. She is also The President of the Black Undergraduate Law Association, and she is a member of the Amala Dancers. She hopes to be become an educator at the collegiate level and to inspire students who come from the same background as her to receive a college education.
