MEET JAYLA JOHNSON

Jayla Johnson is a sophomore pursuing a degree in International Studies with a French minor. On campus, she is heavily involved in various organizations on campus such as the Leaders and Best Mentorship Program, The Support for Incoming Black Students (SIBS) Program [where she serves as a “Big Sib”], the National Association of Black Journalists, The Vice President of Student Affairs Student Advisory Board, and The Women’s History Month Committee. She has a passion for humanitarian causes and an interest in international injustices. She hopes to one day obtain a JD in International Law. In her spare time, she enjoys reading bestsellers and writing poetry. Her favorite quote,  “Change will not come if we wait for some other person or some other time. We are the ones we’ve been waiting for. We are the change that we seek.” was said by Barack Obama in 2011.
